“Memory” is the debut album from Toronto-based electronic musician Vespa. Although he has dabbled in genres as diverse as house, techno, and drum & bass since he began producing in the early 2000s, “Memory” brings a new focus and clarity to his craft, focusing on downtempo and instrumental hip-hop in the vein of DJ Krush or Pete Rock. These compositions, with their distinct “nature” overtones, aren’t built for the club as much as they are for the morning after. Lush and languid. 13 tracks in total.
